UBM Ecological Consultants is a small professional company whose work focuses on practical approaches to the management of natural areas affected by the impact of development of all kinds. From its beginnings in the Sydney area in 1990, UBM Ecological Consultants has carried out work throughout NSW, as well as in Victoria and Tasmania.

UBM Ecological Consultants has delivered quality services to the majority of local government areas in Sydney and the surrounding region, to all major State Government landholders and environmental agencies, to industry, private landowners, and to community groups.

Judith has a Master of Environmental Studies, Diploma in Environmental Studies, Graduate Diploma in Education and a Bachelor of Arts, and leads an expert team of both in-house and contracting consultants.

What we do

Our services encompass various skills and requirements, including reporting, field assessments, training, education and bush regeneration contracting. In essence, the hands-on business of working in degraded bushland. Specifically, UBM Ecological Consultants provides the following services:

  • Weed Management & Bushland Rehabilitation Strategies
  • Legislative Compliance (Development Consent: 7-Part Tests, REF, SIS, EIA)
  • Threatened Species Management: Planning and Implementation

Our policy is to work closely with our clients and with the local community. In the interests of presenting the big picture, UBM Ecological Consultants calls upon and collaborates with a range of specialists, including botanists and zoologists, soil scientists, hydrologists, engineers, fire ecologists, landscape architects and planners, as well as other specialists who can complement our own expertise.

Natural areas in the urban environment will always need some form of active management. Careful planning for the reservation, conservation and rehabilitation of bushland, wetlands and other green space must be an integral part of our approach to urban living. UBM Ecological Consultants emphasises the need to ensure that this management is effective, economically viable, and tailored to the client’s specific needs and problems. The result is a comprehensive natural area planning approach, with an emphasis on holistic and practical advice and planning.
